The Lagos State Police Command has arrested the principal and a teacher from Okota Junior Grammar School for allegedly assaulting a 15-year-old student, causing him to lose three teeth.
The suspects, identified as Kayode Abolarin and Atueyin Martins, were detained after the student’s mother reported the incident to the Isolo Police Division at around 11 a.m. on March 11, 2025.
Confirming the arrests, Lagos State Police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin stated that an investigation is underway.
“The police acted swiftly upon receiving the report and took the suspects into custody. They are currently assisting with the investigation regarding the incident that occurred on the school premises,” Hundeyin said in a statement on Tuesday.
He assured the public that authorities would handle the case diligently to ensure justice is served.
“The Lagos State Police Command is committed to ensuring justice, and the suspects will be charged in court after the investigation is completed,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, reaffirmed the command’s dedication to public safety and swift action against criminal activities.
“Our priority remains the protection and well-being of all residents. The police will continue to address security and criminal issues with the urgency and professionalism they require,” he stated.
