Nollywood actress Biola Adebayo brought joy to veteran actress Dupe Jayesimi by surprising her with a brand-new car in celebration of Mother’s Day.
This generous act came after Jayesimi openly discussed her struggles with childlessness, a challenge that once led her to alcoholism. During an emotional conversation on Biola Adebayo’s podcast, Jayesimi recounted the hardships she faced, including how her inability to conceive contributed to the breakdown of her marriage. Despite undergoing two rounds of IVF, she was unable to have children.
“I was pregnant when I got married, but I suffered a miscarriage shortly after the wedding,” she revealed.
Reflecting on another pregnancy, she shared, “I was thrilled when a test confirmed I was expecting at 40 years old. However, a scan later showed that the pregnancy was located outside the womb.”
She also spoke about the emotional distress she endured in her marriage, revealing that her former husband became distant over time.
“At night, my ex-husband would place pillows between us to ensure no physical contact. Just two weeks after I left the marriage, another woman, already pregnant, moved into the house. I was heartbroken,” she recounted.
Jayesimi also expressed the pain of raising children who weren’t biologically hers, only to be reminded of her own childlessness.
“I took care of my younger sister’s child, but on the wedding day, she told me, ‘You cannot sit in that spot; no matter what you contributed, the child is still mine.’ That moment shattered me,” she admitted.
She shared that she often danced energetically at events, not out of joy but as a way to hide her sorrow. “I wasn’t dancing because I enjoyed the celebrations; it was my way of masking my pain.”
On Sunday, March 30th, Biola Adebayo and her team arrived at Jayesimi’s home to deliver the surprise gift.
A touching video shared on social media captured the moment Biola prayed before handing over the car keys. Overcome with emotion, Jayesimi broke down in tears, deeply moved by the thoughtful gesture.
Sharing the video on Instagram, Biola Adebayo wrote, “Happy Mother’s Day, Mummy @dupe_jayesimi. A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this happen in just a few days. To all the supporters of Talk-To-B, I truly appreciate your kindness. It’s incredibly rewarding to see her smile.”
