Four Nigerian gospel ministers have lost their lives in a tragic accident that occurred along the Ikorodu–Sagamu Road in Ogun State.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the incident in a statement released by the Ogun State Sector Commander and Public Education Officer, Florence Okupe.

The victims were identified as Evangelist Ayodeji David, popularly known as Kekere Jesu, Evangelist Iyanu Joseph, Monjolajesu Oluwapamilerin, and Opeyemi Adesina.

According to the FRSC report, the accident happened when the vehicle conveying the ministers was involved in a collision with another vehicle. The impact of the crash led to the death of all four ministers on the spot.

The incident was said to have involved multiple vehicles, claiming over 24 lives in total. Preliminary findings indicated that overspeeding and poor visibility contributed to the crash.

Evangelist Kekere Jesu was widely known for his street evangelism, powerful sermons, and social media outreach. He was reportedly on his way to a ministry program when the accident happened.

Following the news of their death, several tributes have poured in from colleagues, church members, and followers, describing the late ministers as dedicated servants of God with a passion for soul-winning.

Prophet Sam Olu Alo, founder of Christ Apostolic Church, Grace of Mercy Prayer Mountain International Ministry, expressed his shock and grief in a Facebook post, saying:

“UNQUESTIONABLE GOD! This is indeed a shocking loss. But who are we to question God? His thoughts are not ours, and His ways are beyond our understanding. Rest in peace, my beloved brother Evangelist Ayodeji David (Kekere Jesu).”

Another Facebook user, Kenny John, also mourned the victims, writing:

“It is heartbreaking that the accident which occurred on April 5th along the Shagamu–Ibadan Expressway claimed the lives of 22 people. Four of them were dear to me — Evangelist Ayodeji (Kekere Jesu), Evangelist Iyanu Joseph, the fiancée of Evangelist Ayodeji, and the wife of his elder brother. May their souls rest in perfect peace.”

He also offered prayers for the families left behind, asking God to grant them comfort and strength in this difficult time.

Relevant Bible verses were shared to console the grieving, including:

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain.” — Revelation 21:4

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” — Matthew 5:4
