Nollywood star Laide Bakare sparked a buzz online after a video surfaced showing her in a heated exchange with fellow actress Eniola Badmus at a recent movie premiere.

The incident occurred at the premiere of Eniola Ajao’s film Owambe Thieves, held on Sunday at Circle Mall in Lekki, Lagos.

In the viral video, the two actresses were seen in a tense argument, with Bakare questioning Badmus’s mental state. In response, Badmus shot her a disapproving glance before walking away. During the confrontation, a man in a suit—believed to be Badmus’s bodyguard—attempted to de-escalate the situation.

Following the public clash, Bakare shared screenshots of private messages between her and Badmus on Instagram. In the messages, Badmus criticized Bakare for posting an unflattering photo of her, calling the move “animalistic.”

Bakare, in her caption, accused Badmus of being ungrateful. She claimed she had helped launch Badmus’s career by giving her a breakthrough role when others overlooked her due to her weight.
