The family of Bolaji Olarewaju, known to many as Big Bolaji, has confirmed his passing after a brief illness.

In a statement released on Saturday, the family announced that Bolaji passed away on Easter Saturday, April 19th, 2025.

The statement reads: “With deep sadness, we announce the death of Bolaji Olarewaju, a beloved father, husband, brother, and a revered figure in both the church and the music industry. Bolaji, an ordained pastor in the RCCG, passed away on Easter Saturday following a brief illness.

“His loss leaves an irreplaceable gap in our lives and hearts.

“Bolaji’s life was a reflection of his dedication to music, his strong faith, and his commitment to helping others. His legacy is evident not only in the music he created but also in the many lives he impacted and the joy he spread throughout his journey.

“We take comfort in the knowledge that while he is no longer with us, he is in the presence of the Lord, and the profound impact he had on all who knew him will never fade.

“As we mourn this tremendous loss, we kindly request privacy to allow us time to grieve as a family. We are incredibly thankful for the love and support we have received and ask for your continued prayers during this difficult period.

“Further information about the funeral will be shared shortly as we come together to celebrate Bolaji’s remarkable life and enduring legacy.

“Thank you for understanding and honoring our wishes during this challenging time. With gratitude, The Family of Bolaji Olarewaju.”
