Three individuals—Olaniyan Joshua, Oyetunde Julius Akano, and Victor Oluwale—were taken into custody by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday, May 1, 2025, in Abuja. They are currently undergoing interrogation by the agency.

The arrests are tied to an alleged fraudulent scheme involving Q-net, a global e-commerce and direct selling company. According to the EFCC, the suspects operated under the name “Mighty Infinity Millionaire Limited” and falsely presented themselves as Q-net representatives. The legitimate Q-net organization has disclaimed any affiliation with the individuals or their activities.

Further investigations uncovered that the trio also operated an illegal university, offering fake Bachelor of Science degrees in fields such as Medicine, Nursing, Cybersecurity, Computer Studies, and Geology. These supposed academic programs were conducted in makeshift locations such as pavilions and open spaces, under the false pretense of being affiliated with Quest International University in Malaysia.

Victims of the scam reportedly paid between N1.2 million and N1.3 million as registration fees. The suspects are believed to have generated hundreds of millions of naira from the fraudulent operation.

These arrests come in the wake of a prior raid on March 24, 2025, at a location known as Q-net University in Compensation Layout, Gwagwalada, FCT, Abuja, where 133 individuals were detained.
