An 18-year-old woman, Saudat Jibril, has been arrested by the Kano State Police Command for allegedly killing her husband, 30-year-old Salisu Idris, just nine days into their marriage.
According to police reports, Saudat allegedly asked her husband to close his eyes for a “surprise” before fatally slashing his throat with a sharp knife.
The incident reportedly took place in the early hours of Tuesday, May 6, 2025, around 12:35 a.m., at their home in Farawa Quarters, Kano.
Following the attack, Saudat reportedly locked herself in a bedroom. She was later discovered during a police search, found using her phone, and taken into custody on the spot.
