The Kano State Police Command has announced the arrest of 41 individuals in connection with the murder of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Baba Ali, who served as the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the Rano Division.

In a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Superintendent Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the suspects face charges related to arson and criminal mischief.

Describing the incident as a brutal and senseless act, the statement emphasized that it represents a serious threat not only to law enforcement but also to the social fabric of the community. “This heinous crime, which has sparked widespread outrage, is a direct attack on the commitment and sacrifices of our officers who put their lives at risk to protect the public,” the statement said.

Kiyawa noted that the Command has taken decisive action. “Following a prompt and comprehensive investigation, 41 individuals have been apprehended, including key suspects identified in connection to the crime.”

He added that the police are intensifying efforts to ensure that every individual involved in the incident is brought to justice. “The investigation remains ongoing, and no effort will be spared in tracking down all accomplices,” he said.

Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, reaffirmed the Command’s dedication to safeguarding lives and property across the state. He stressed that the force remains unwavering in its pursuit of justice and will continue to work relentlessly until all those responsible are held accountable.

He also thanked the public for their continued support and cooperation, urging residents to remain calm and assist the police with relevant information.

“We deeply value the understanding and solidarity shown by the community during this time. The Command remains steadfast in its mission to protect and serve, and we will not allow acts of violence to deter our commitment,” the statement concluded.

The Command paid tribute to CSP Baba Ali, recognizing his courage and service, and commended officers who continue to perform their duties with dedication despite the risks involved.
