Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, father of the late singer Mohbad, has shared heartbreaking details about the final hours of his son’s life during an emotional interview with activist VeryDarkMan (VDM).

He becomes the fifth individual linked to the ongoing controversy surrounding Mohbad’s death on September 12, 2023, to speak publicly with VDM. In previous interviews, others close to the late artist had also offered accounts that added layers of complexity to the case.

In a now-viral video posted on VeryDarkMan’s Instagram page, Mohbad’s father recounted how an ordinary health update quickly spiraled into a tragedy. According to him, he received a call at about 4:30 p.m. from Mohbad’s mother, known as Iya Moh, informing him that their son was unwell and receiving care at a hospital.

He said he decided to wait so they could head there together. She later arrived with a relative, Iya Tunde (Wunmi’s aunt), and they took a ferry. During the trip, multiple calls came in. One particularly stood out—it was from Darosha, Mohbad’s cousin and close associate, who told him to return home because Mohbad was reportedly fine and receiving treatment. “But I refused. Something didn’t feel right,” the father recalled.

By the time they got to Osapa London bus stop around 6:30 p.m., he said his suspicions deepened. When they eventually reached the house at about 9:00 p.m., what he saw left him stunned. “The first thing I noticed was a blood-soaked duvet. I was completely confused,” he said.

Shortly after, a friend of the late singer known as Lifestyle invited him downstairs, where he encountered the lifeless body of his son surrounded by Islamic clerics (alfas). He described the house as crowded with people, including celebrities like Zlatan, DJ Bami, Darosha, and Mohbad’s lawyer.

According to him, Mohbad’s wife, Wunmi, was visibly distraught and claimed the singer had suffered a severe reaction to an injection. However, as a pastor, Mohbad’s father said he immediately felt something was amiss and rejected that explanation.

He recounted how they went to a police station to make a report, but during the process, someone abruptly told the officers not to issue a police report, allegedly because the death wasn’t reported promptly. He further alleged that Wunmi withheld the doctor’s report and that Mohbad’s body was embalmed at the house without his consent. To make matters worse, the morgue refused to accept the body that same night.
