Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, the revered Awujale of Ijebuland, has passed on at the age of 91.
The respected monarch died on Sunday, shortly after news broke of the death of his close friend and former Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari.
Oba Adetona began his reign on April 2, 1960, and ruled for more than 64 years, earning recognition as one of Nigeria’s longest-serving traditional rulers.
