The grieving mother of late comedian Sanku has spoken out following the tragic death of her son, describing him as the breadwinner of the family and dismissing rumors linking him to money rituals.
In an emotional account, she revealed that Sanku, her fifth child out of six, was responsible for her well-being and that of his siblings. According to her, he had promised to establish her in business and already urged her to stop selling pepper at the market.
“He was my only helper. Just three days before his death, he called me and told me about a journey he was embarking on. I never knew that would be our last conversation,” she said tearfully.
She added that when the accident happened, she was initially informed he was recovering, only to later discover he had died.
Reacting to claims that her son’s death was tied to money rituals, she strongly refuted the allegations, stressing that he was a devout Muslim, hardworking, and had loved comedy from a young age.
“Nigerians, may you never witness the graves of your children,” she lamented.
