The Anambra State Police Command has appealed to the public for assistance in locating a missing child, three-year-old Master Chimaobi Nwadike.
According to a statement issued on Monday by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the boy was allegedly taken away by an unidentified woman on September 26, 2025, at Obosi in Idemili North Local Government Area, while under the care of his mother.
Ikenga urged residents of the state and beyond to provide any useful information that could aid in tracing the child or identifying the suspect. He encouraged those with leads to report to the nearest police station or reach out through the Command’s emergency lines.
The statement read in part:
> “The Anambra State Police Command seeks assistance from members of the public regarding a case of child stealing reported on September 26, 2025, at Obosi, Idemili North LGA. Preliminary findings indicate that the victim, Master Chimaobi Nwadike, was stolen by an unidentified female while in his mother’s custody.”
This case comes weeks after the Command arrested a 63-year-old woman, Ngozi Muotuanya, suspected of being involved in child trafficking. Muotuanya was alleged to have stolen a one-year-old boy in Niger State and later sold him in Anambra before being apprehended by operatives attached to the Oba Division.
The Police Command has assured residents that investigations are ongoing and reiterated its commitment to tackling child theft and trafficking in the state.
