Former Niger Delta militant leader and activist, Mujahid Asari-Dokubo, has issued a stern warning to Boko Haram fighters against entering Port Harcourt. He stated he would not hesitate to confront and neutralise any terrorist who attempts operations in the city.
In a video that circulated online on Tuesday, Asari-Dokubo addressed the rising wave of killings and kidnappings across Nigeria. He emphasised that his Muslim faith will not prevent him from defending himself and others.
He said, “If Boko Haram comes to Port Harcourt, my duty is to stop them. I have confronted them in Zamfara, Plateau, and Niger. If they come here, I will confront them as well. There will be no compromise.”
His remarks have reignited discussions on his influence in regional security matters and his longstanding history of armed involvement in the Niger Delta.
