The Association of Nigeria Theatre Arts Practitioners has refuted viral rumours claiming that renowned Yoruba actor and cultural figure, Olalere OsunPaimo, has died.
In a statement issued on Saturday and signed by the National Public Relations Officer, Adejonwo Oluwafemi, the association confirmed that the actor — popularly known as Baba Eda Onile Ola — is alive and in good condition.
According to the statement, ANTP reached out to Paimo’s wife, who confirmed that the reports circulating on Facebook were entirely false.
“We wish to inform the public that the rumours announcing the death of Chief Olalere OsunPaimo (MFR) are untrue. He is alive and healthy,” the association said.
ANTP condemned the spread of misleading posts and urged Nigerians to verify sensitive information before sharing it.
“Please disregard these false claims and be cautious about spreading unconfirmed news,” the statement added.
