Fifteen farmers from Ungwan Nungu in Bokana Ward, Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State, have been kidnapped by armed men while returning from their farms.

The attack occurred on Saturday, November 29, 2025, creating tension across the community as families await updates on the victims’ safety.

Reacting to the incident, the member representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Daniel Amos, described the abduction as “cruel, senseless, and deeply regrettable.”

In a statement issued on Tuesday, he warned that the attack reflects the growing insecurity rural communities continue to face.

“Our people deserve to live without fear. Targeting peaceful, hardworking community members is unacceptable and must never be tolerated,” he said.

Amos urged residents of Ungwan Nungu and surrounding communities to remain calm, avoid retaliatory actions, and support ongoing security efforts with vigilance and useful information.

He also called for a coordinated response by security agencies to ensure the safe rescue of the victims.

“I urge security agencies to leave no stone unturned. We expect enhanced surveillance, intelligence-led operations, and the prompt arrest and prosecution of those involved,” he stated.

The lawmaker expressed solidarity with the affected families and assured them that steps were being taken to secure the release of the abducted farmers.

“We all share the pain of the families. We will continue to push for every necessary action until the victims are safely reunited with their loved ones,” he added.

Amos reaffirmed that protecting the lives of constituents remains his priority and encouraged communities not to lose hope despite rising security challenges.
