World heavyweight boxing star Anthony Joshua was involved in a road traffic accident on Monday in Makun, Ogun State.
The incident occurred on a busy section of the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, close to the Danco Filling Station near the Sagamu Interchange on the Ibadan-bound lane.
According to reports, the vehicle conveying Joshua collided with another car under circumstances that are still being investigated by authorities. Joshua was said to have sustained minor injuries and is reportedly in stable condition.
Tragically, two persons lost their lives at the scene of the crash.
As of the time this report was filed, attempts to obtain further details from the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) were unsuccessful, as calls to the Commandant, Akinbiyi Babatunde, did not connect.
However, the Ogun State Police Command, through its spokesperson, Oluseyi Babaseyi, confirmed the occurrence of the accident.
