The family of Nollywood actress and producer, Princess Allwell Ademola, has released an official statement to clarify the circumstances surrounding her death.
In a statement signed by Adegboyega Adebayo on behalf of the family, it was confirmed that Ademola passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at the age of 49. The family described her passing as a painful loss, stating that they accept it with humility and total submission to the will of God. Details of her burial arrangements, they said, will be communicated later.
The family noted that Ademola was a respected daughter of the Ademola family of Ogun State and a great-granddaughter of the Alake of Egba Land. They described her as a remarkably talented and passionate creative figure who excelled as an actor, singer, filmmaker, and performer from a young age until her final days.
According to the statement, her contributions to the creative industry left a lasting impact on many lives and reflected her deep commitment to storytelling and artistic expression.
The family also expressed gratitude to colleagues, friends, and supporters worldwide for the overwhelming messages of sympathy, prayers, and support, describing them as a source of strength during this difficult period.
Following confirmation of her death, the Nollywood industry was thrown into mourning as the news spread rapidly. Earlier concerns had emerged after reports circulated that the actress was receiving medical attention at a clinic in Agege, Lagos.
Her passing shocked fans and colleagues alike, especially as she had shared a reflective message on social media just hours earlier, expressing hope to witness the end of the year.
Several actors took to social media to express their grief and disbelief. Faithia Williams described the news as deeply painful, while Mide Martins referred to the day as a “black Saturday.” Damola Olatunji shared a candlelight tribute, reflecting on the fragility of life. Bidemi Kosoko, Ariyo Akpesin, Jaiye Kuti, and many others also posted emotional messages, praying for her soul and expressing sorrow over the loss.
Fans across social media platforms similarly shared prayers, tributes, and messages of disbelief.
In closing, the Ademola family prayed for the peaceful repose of her soul and appealed for patience and understanding as they prepare to announce further burial details.
