Eleven individuals suspected to be linked to the robbery that resulted in the death of have been charged before a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court.

The suspects are connected to the September 29, 2025, attack at Unique Apartments in Katampe Extension, Mabushi, , where the journalist, who worked as a reporter and producer with , and a security guard, Barnabas Danlami, lost their lives.

During the incident, Danlami was reportedly shot when he attempted to block the attackers, while Maduagwu was said to have fallen from the second floor of her apartment while trying to escape.

Following the attack, launched an investigation that led to the arrest of the suspects months later. Those arraigned include Shamsu Hassan, Sani Sirajo, Hassan Isah, Abubakar Alkamu, Abdulsalam Saleh, Suleiman Badamasi, Zaharadeen Mohammed, Musa Umar (also known as “Small”), Mashkur Jamil, Suleiman Sani, and Abubakar Usman.

According to the police, the defendants face multiple charges, including criminal conspiracy, armed robbery, and murder. The case has been adjourned to February 2026 for further hearing.

The police also urged residents to remain alert and report suspicious activity or items through emergency contact lines, stressing the importance of public cooperation in combating crime.
