The Ogun State Police Command has dismissed reports claiming that popular Nigerian entertainer Broda Shaggi was shot within the state.
In a statement released on Friday, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the police had no record of such an incident anywhere in Ogun State. According to him, none of the police divisions or formations in the state had received any report confirming that the comedian was involved in a shooting.
Babaseyi explained that the command could not verify the claim because no official complaint or documentation relating to the alleged incident had been filed with the police.
Despite the absence of any report, he stated that the command had begun inquiries to determine the origin and accuracy of the circulating information. He noted that the police were conducting the necessary checks to establish the facts surrounding the claim.
The police spokesperson also urged members of the public to depend only on official statements from the police while the matter is being looked into.
He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to protecting residents and maintaining law and order throughout Ogun State.
