Gunmen have reportedly attacked a primary healthcare centre in the Oke Ijebu area of Akure, abducting at least six health workers in the early hours of Saturday.
The incident occurred around 2 a.m. at the government-owned facility, where the attackers were said to have stormed the premises and taken staff members, including some interns, to an unknown location.
A patient at the centre recounted that the assailants arrived in a bus, forcefully gained entry into the facility, and rounded up the victims before taking them away.
Sources indicated that the gunmen loaded the abducted workers into the vehicle and fled the scene immediately after the operation.
As of the time of this report, full details surrounding the attack remain unclear, and authorities are yet to release an official statement on the incident.
