The Lagos State Police Command has commenced an investigation into a security incident involving the delivery of a suspicious package containing live ammunition to the residence of First Bank of Nigeria’s Managing Director, Oluwasegun Alebiosu.

Drivetvnews gathered that Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, disclosed the development while addressing journalists during a briefing at the command headquarters in Ikeja.

According to him, the parcel was delivered to Alebiosu’s residence in the Ikoyi area of Lagos on May 7, 2026. The package was reportedly received by a security guard on behalf of the bank executive before its contents were later examined.

Upon opening the parcel, two live rounds of ammunition were discovered inside, prompting an immediate response from security authorities.

Police investigations revealed that the recovered ammunition consisted of 7.62mm calibre rounds. The discovery triggered a full-scale investigation aimed at identifying the sender and determining the motive behind the delivery.

Fatai stated that no arrests have been made in connection with the incident, but detectives are actively following multiple leads.

He noted that the bank executive had expressed suspicions regarding certain individuals who could be linked to the matter. However, the commissioner stressed that such claims remain allegations until evidence establishes any connection.

The police chief urged members of the public to refrain from speculation while investigations are ongoing, assuring that all information provided to investigators would be carefully examined.

He further clarified that no person, group or organisation has been officially implicated in the case at this stage.

The Lagos State Police Command reiterated its commitment to conducting a thorough investigation and assured that anyone found responsible for the act would face prosecution in accordance with the law.
