The Rapid Response Squad (RRS) operatives in Lagos State apprehended a driver for allegedly endangering children by squeezing four of them into a car trunk and cramming 11 others onto the seats. SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the command’s spokesperson, confirmed the arrest through his verified handle @benHundeyin, stating that the driver was detained for negligence. The RRS intercepted the Volkswagen Passat on the Lekki–Ikoyi Link Bridge following reports from concerned citizens around 8.00 p.m. on Sunday. Investigations revealed that a child had collapsed previously due to similar transport conditions but recovered after medical attention. The children, fortunately, were unharmed and reunited with their parents. The suspect faces legal charges, while Commissioner of Police Adegoke Fayoade commended Lagos residents for their vigilant reporting of suspicious activities.
