The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended Nigerian musician Azeez Adeshina Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, in connection with the mysterious death of his former signee, Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as MohBad. A few weeks ago, Mohbad passed away under unclear circumstances, prompting an investigation.
Lagos Police command spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed Naira Marley’s arrest in a statement on Tuesday night. Naira Marley, who had recently returned to Nigeria, is expected to assist the police in their inquiry into MohBad’s demise. Prior to the police statement, Naira Marley had expressed his intention to cooperate with the authorities.
“I’d like to share that I’ve just arrived back in Lagos, Nigeria, to assist the authorities with the ongoing investigation. It’s important I do my part for Imole. I’ll be meeting with the police with hopes for the truth to be uncovered and for justice to prevail,” the singer stated earlier.
