Security personnel from the Ekiti State Amotekun Corps in Efon Alaaye, located in Efon Local Government Area, have apprehended a 43-year-old woman, Damilola Ajenifuja, for allegedly attacking her son and inflicting severe head injuries.
The Head of Communication for Ekiti Amotekun, Abiodun Adeleye, confirmed the arrest in a statement issued on Tuesday.
According to Adeleye, the woman struck her nine-year-old son on the head with a pestle, reportedly as a form of punishment.
“The suspect viciously hit her son on the head with a pestle, which she used as a disciplinary measure for his misbehavior,” he stated.
He further explained that during questioning, the woman admitted to the act. Following her confession, she was transferred to the Police Division in Efon-Ekiti for further investigation and legal proceedings.
