Popular Fuji singer Alabi Pasuma and controversial street-hop artist Portable made an appearance at a celestial church in Lagos, defying the controversy surrounding their invitation.
The announcement of the duo as guest performers for the church’s praise night sparked debates on social media, drawing both criticism and support for the move. Celestial Church leader Olatosho Oshoffa expressed disagreement, stating that he had halted the singers from participating in the event.
In response to the backlash, the presiding pastor of the church, Aderemi Dabiri, defended his decision, citing that he invited the secular musicians to spread the message of Christ and bring souls to the faith.
Despite the criticisms, a video surfaced online depicting the artists’ performance at the praise night. Pasuma appeared in casual attire, while Portable adhered to the white garment attire in line with the church’s dress code.
The performance captured Portable passionately singing his hit track “Zazuu,” engaging the congregants, who enthusiastically joined in, fostering an atmosphere of joy and communal celebration within the church.
