Joseph Aloba, father of the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, widely known as Mohbad, has petitioned the Lagos State Attorney General, Mr. Lawal Pedro (SAN), demanding the prosecution of his son’s wife, Mrs. Omowunmi Aloba, and an auxiliary nurse, Miss Ogedengbe Fisayo, for their alleged involvement in the singer’s death.
Through his counsel, Dr. Wahab Shittu (SAN), Mr. Aloba submitted the petition on October 3, 2025, to the Lagos State Ministry of Justice in Alausa, Ikeja. The petition gave the Attorney General a 14-day deadline to either commence prosecution or grant a fiat that would allow his legal team to pursue the matter under the Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Lagos State.
Aloba also called for charges against Ibrahim Owodunni, also known as Prime Boy, and others present at Mohbad’s residence on the day of his death, accusing them of either bringing in an unqualified nurse or failing to ensure the singer received urgent professional medical care.
This demand followed the coroner’s inquest led by Magistrate Adetayo Shotobi of the Ikorodu Magistrate Court, which, on July 11, 2025, indicted the individuals for complicity in the 27-year-old’s death.
According to the coroner’s findings, Fisayo administered multiple injections, including tetanus, paracetamol, and ceftriaxone, without proper diagnosis or certification as a medical practitioner. The report faulted Omowunmi for negligence, stressing that as Mohbad’s closest companion, she should have insisted.
