The media office of Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli has rejected allegations linking the lawmaker to the abduction of Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, sister of former Minister of Power Chief Adebayo Adelabu, and her twin sons.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the senator’s team described the claims circulating on social media as false, defamatory, and politically motivated. The office maintained that there is no evidence connecting the senator to the kidnapping incident and accused political opponents of attempting to damage his reputation ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State.
According to the statement, Senator Alli, who represents Oyo South Senatorial District in the Senate, has built a reputation through years of public service, legal practice, and traditional leadership, making the allegations both baseless and illogical.
The media office stressed that the senator has no relationship with the criminal incident, the suspects involved, or any activity related to kidnapping and violence. It further argued that attempts to link campaign materials allegedly associated with him to the crime were part of a deliberate effort to mislead the public and create political tension.
The statement also noted that no security agency has officially connected Senator Alli to the abduction, warning against the spread of unverified claims capable of undermining ongoing investigations.
Reaffirming the senator’s position on security, the office said he strongly condemns kidnapping and all forms of criminality and has consistently supported measures aimed at protecting lives and property across Oyo State and Nigeria.
The media team called on the public to disregard the allegations and urged security agencies to investigate the origin of the claims and prosecute those responsible for spreading false information.
It added that Senator Alli remains focused on his legislative responsibilities and his vision for a secure, united, and prosperous Oyo State.
