Teniola Apata, known as Teni, shared her admiration for growing up in a polygamous family, revealing the fondness she holds for the dynamics of such a household.
During an episode of the Zero Conditions Podcast, Teni reminisced about her upbringing in a family where her late father had three wives and 10 children. She expressed her preference for being raised in a polygamous setting rather than a monogamous one.
“I grew up in a polygamous family, surrounded by many relatives, where rules were strictly observed. I received abundant love and protection. Three wives, 10 children—massive respect to my lineage! I share a great bond with all my siblings, though there are varying levels of closeness,” she disclosed.
Teni emphasized her affection for the liveliness of her family structure, stating, “Any other way feels dull to me. If I were to live this life again, I’d choose the same family. How can I exist in a monogamous household where we’d all just sit around; no chaos?”
She also highlighted the unique love within her family, attributing it to the spirited nature of their upbringing. She mentioned the unconventional experiences, such as dealing with gunshots and learning how to handle firearms, which contributed to the family’s unity even after her father’s passing.
“It was like my father prepared for the future, even for his death. Before he passed away, he imparted knowledge to his wives, including firearms training. After his demise, they applied these skills. That’s how our family has managed to stay united even after my dad’s passing,” Teni expressed.
