Distinguished guests and thousands of mourners have begun to gather at the Redeemer Christian Church of God, RCCG, Lion of Judah Parish in Isiokpi for the burial of the late Dr. Herbert Wigwe.
Isiokpo, situated in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, serves as the setting for the funeral service of the late billionaire, alongside his wife, Chizoba, and son, Chizzy.
Among the early arrivals are Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State and the State Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu, who serves as the chief security officer, CSO, for the ceremony.
Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State, alongside Dr. Godknows Igali, a former Nigerian Ambassador, are also present to pay their final respects to Wigwe, joined by clergy members and traditional rulers from Omoeke, Wigwe’s hometown, as well as monarchs from Isiokpo at large.
Scores of other dignitaries, as yet unidentified, have also assembled at the venue.
Meanwhile, there is a notable increase in security measures within Isiokpo and its surroundings.
