In Akure, the capital of Ondo State, a tragic incident unfolded as 30-year-old Fatai Abdullahi allegedly murdered his wife, Morenike after a minor disagreement. Drivetvnews Reports suggest he used scissors in the fatal attack, which occurred on March 27, 2024.
According to police sources, the argument escalated to a violent confrontation, resulting in Morenike’s untimely demise. The state police spokesperson, Funmi Odunlami, shared that the couple frequently quarreled over Morenike’s desire to visit her child from a previous marriage. After the alleged murder, Abdullahi reportedly took pictures of the deceased and kept her body in the house until late into the night before alerting authorities.
Preliminary investigations indicate stab wounds on Morenike’s stomach and neck, suggesting the use of a blood-stained pair of scissors recovered from the scene. Abdullahi is currently in custody awaiting legal proceedings.
