Pastor William Kumuyi, the founder and General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, has offered guidance to Nigerians contemplating leaving the country in search of better opportunities abroad. During a Sunday sermon in Port Harcourt, he expressed concern over the increasing number of young people, especially youths, seeking to relocate overseas.

Kumuyi advised those considering emigration to reconsider their decision, warning that many end up regretting it later on.

According to Drivetvnews, the term “JAPA,” a popular slang among Nigerians, refers to escaping or fleeing a difficult situation, often in a hurried manner.

In contrast, Kumuyi emphasized that true success and blessings can be found within Nigeria, assuring his congregation that God’s favor is not limited by geography. “The goodness of the Lord will find you wherever you are born,” he declared.

He reflected on the experiences of professionals like doctors, engineers, and lawyers who left Nigeria in search of better prospects but discovered that life abroad was not as easy as they had imagined.

“Doctors, engineers, lawyers, and other professionals leave, thinking they are escaping unfavorable conditions for lands of opportunity and prosperity. But when they arrive, they face challenges such as high rent, the cost of living, and providing for their families, which often proves more difficult than expected. Many start to feel that life was better back in Nigeria and begin searching for ways to return,” he explained.

Kumuyi encouraged Nigerians to recognize the potential within their own country, stating, “Good things will come to you here. There’s no need to flee; your prosperity and progress are right here in Nigeria.”

As reported by Drivetvnews, Kumuyi’s message is part of a broader call for faith and resilience, urging Nigerians to trust in God’s plan for their lives, regardless of current difficulties.
