Nollywood star Adunni Ade has expressed joy after winning a defamation lawsuit against a Nigerian online news outlet that linked her romantically with Senator Dino Melaye.
The controversy began nearly two years ago when the media platform listed Adunni Ade among “six popular Nigerian celebrities” allegedly involved with the former lawmaker. The actress denied the claim and filed a ₦100 million lawsuit against the publication for defamation of character and invasion of privacy.
On Tuesday, Adunni Ade took to Instagram to celebrate the court’s ruling in her favor. In her post, she praised the Nigerian judiciary for delivering justice, writing:
“I won my case — Adunni Ade vs. Polace Media Limited (naijanews.com). A false story was published about me, but the truth prevailed. This judgment reinforces that privacy and integrity matter. Justice delayed isn’t justice denied.”
She also hinted that she had won another lawsuit and had more pending, saying:
“Two cases won, a few more to go. To those dodging court papers, please stop running — it’s time to face justice.”
When asked by followers about the outcome, the actress revealed,
“The judge awarded ₦20 million in damages, but the blogger has disappeared. Next step is to garnish the account.”
The ruling marks another victory for Adunni Ade, who has been vocal about protecting her reputation and privacy in the entertainment industry.
