Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has publicly declared his support for the re-election of Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a video shared on his social media platforms, the artist urged Yoruba voters to back the president, stating that doing so would help maintain peace in the country. He warned that those who oppose Tinubu’s return to office could face spiritual consequences, using strong traditional expressions to emphasize his stance.
Portable also claimed that he had been approached by the All Progressives Congress to support its campaign efforts. According to him, he has already received party materials and plans to begin grassroots mobilisation activities, including distributing food items to supporters.
Beyond politics, the singer recently generated further attention with comments about the Nigerian music industry. In another viral video, he questioned the career progression of artists who leave Mavin Records, suggesting that some struggle to maintain their relevance afterward.
He mentioned artists associated with the label, including Rema, while acknowledging that Tiwa Savage has remained successful. Portable also openly appealed to Don Jazzy for a possible collaboration, expressing confidence that such a partnership could elevate his career.
