Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have rescued Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, following a successful rescue operation carried out on Saturday evening.
The victims, including the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, regained their freedom after security operatives tracked down their abductors and engaged them in a gun battle.
Police sources revealed that the operation took place around 7:30 p.m. on June 6, 2026. During the exchange of gunfire, two suspected kidnappers were killed, while two firearms were recovered from the criminals.
Mrs. John-Paul and her children were kidnapped on June 3, 2026, while travelling to drop the twins at school.
According to security sources, intelligence gathering and sustained pressure mounted on the kidnappers helped security operatives locate the gang’s hideout, leading to the confrontation that resulted in the victims’ rescue.
The police have since launched a manhunt for other members of the kidnapping syndicate who escaped during the operation. Authorities believe some of the fleeing suspects may have sustained gunshot injuries.
The rescued victims were recovered alive, while efforts continue to dismantle the criminal network responsible for the abduction.
