On Tuesday, a fatal collision between a Toyota Camry car and a private motorcycle on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway resulted in one fatality and two individuals sustaining injuries. Mr. William Manga, Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Badagry, confirmed the tragic incident on Wednesday, pinpointing its occurrence at the Age-Mowo axis of the expressway around 8.50 pm.The vehicles involved were a Toyota Camry with registration number FST 81 FN and a private Bajaj motorcycle. FRSC personnel reached the accident scene at 9.00 pm, finding three individuals affected by the collision.Regrettably, the motorcyclist lost their life at the scene, while the two occupants of the Camry car suffered injuries. Responding promptly, two injured victims were transported to the General Hospital in Badagry for medical attention, and the deceased motorcyclist was conveyed to the hospital’s mortuary.Manga seized the opportunity to caution motorists using the Agbara-Badagry expressway about the importance of exercising caution due to the current utilization of a single lane by road users. He emphasized the significance of adhering to speed limits and conducting regular vehicle checks to promptly identify and address any faulty parts. This tragic incident serves as a poignant reminder of the imperative need for heightened road safety awareness and responsible driving practices.
