Veteran Nollywood actor Owolabi Ajasa has debunked widespread rumours claiming he is dead, assuring fans that he is alive and in good health.
Drivetvnews gathered that the false reports gained traction on social media after an obituary poster bearing the actor’s name circulated online, prompting concern among his supporters.
In a video shared on his official Instagram page on Friday, Ajasa dismissed the claims and confirmed that he remains healthy.
“I’m still much alive and in good health,” the actor stated.
Popularly recognised for portraying police officers in Nollywood films and for his famous catchphrase, “Ta lo pa chief?”, Ajasa condemned those responsible for spreading the false information.
Reacting to the fake obituary, he said the rumours should return to those who created and shared them.
Addressing his fans both within Nigeria and abroad, the veteran actor reaffirmed that nothing had happened to him.
“My name is still Owolabi Ajasa, your Nollywood police officer. I want all my fans in Nigeria and across the world to know that I’m alive, hale and hearty. There is absolutely nothing wrong with me,” he said.
His clarification has since brought relief to many fans who had expressed concern after the misleading obituary went viral.
