Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, has predicted that President Bola Tinubu will secure more than 12 million votes in the 2027 presidential election.

Fayose made the prediction during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today aired on Tuesday.

The former governor said Tinubu would defeat former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, and former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi, even if both opposition figures decide to work together.

Fayose argued that the election would be highly competitive but maintained that Tinubu would still emerge victorious.

He also claimed that the South-West could give Tinubu a significant vote advantage, estimating the difference at between five and six million votes.

According to him, Atiku and Obi would struggle to secure substantial support in states such as Ekiti, Osun and Ondo due to what he described as their limited political structures in the region.

Fayose further said Tinubu could surpass 12 million votes and argued that manipulating the outcome of the election would be difficult.

He attributed his projection to what he described as improvements in Nigeria’s economy under the Tinubu administration, saying the President had stabilised the economy.
