A 30-year-old man, Haruna Ishaka, has reportedly died following a domestic violence incident involving his 24-year-old wife, Maimuna, in Maigoje village, Mai Idanu Ward, Gashaka Local Government Area of Taraba State.
According to a police report from the Gashaka Division, the incident occurred at about 11:15 p.m. on Monday, October 12, 2026, when Maimuna allegedly severed her husband’s genitals.
Haruna reportedly died in the early hours of Tuesday, October 13, following the incident. His body was subsequently buried in accordance with Islamic rites.
Preliminary police findings indicated that the couple had experienced disagreements over the man’s alleged interest in young girls outside their marriage.
The report stated that Maimuna had previously warned her husband about the alleged behaviour, but he reportedly ignored her warnings.
As of the time the police report was prepared, Maimuna was reportedly at large.
