Tragedy struck in Kwara as three siblings – a boy and two girls – lost their lives due to extreme suffocation inside a car parked at their residence in Ilorin, the state capital. The heartbreaking incident unfolded at No. 8, Boluke Line, Zango-Kulende quarters, Ilorin East local government area, on Sunday. According to reports, the children, belonging to the same parent, were playing inside the car when they accidentally locked themselves in.The car, borrowed by their father from a relative within the compound for a quick errand, became a deadly trap for the unsuspecting children.Their mother, Shade Silifat, had left momentarily to purchase noodles for the kids’ school meals. Upon her return, she noticed their footwear lying outside the car and, upon investigation, found the children motionless inside. Overwhelmed by shock and grief, she fainted at the sight.Efforts were made to save the children’s lives, with a swift rush to Olutayo Clinic nearby. However, the gravity of the situation necessitated their transfer to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, where they were pronounced dead on arrival.
