Nigerian musician Paul Nonso Okoye, widely known as Rudeboy, has officially announced the dissolution of the music group Psquare for the second time. This announcement follows the group’s initial split in 2016, after which they reunited in 2021.

According to Drivetvnews  reports, including those from Nigerian celebrity journalist Stella Dimokokorkus, the rift between the twin brothers, Paul and Peter Okoye (also known as Mr P), may be linked to disputes over joint funds allegedly mismanaged by their elder brother and music executive, Jude Okoye.

In a recent interview with City FM in Lagos, Rudeboy confirmed that Psquare has disbanded once more, revealing that their plans to create successful albums together are no longer viable. He also addressed accusations that he had claimed to be the group’s primary singer while Peter was merely the dancer, a statement that reportedly upset Peter.

Rudeboy recounted that Peter directly told him he was no longer interested in continuing with the group and preferred to keep the matter private. He expressed his disappointment, saying, “The plan of our coming back together was to produce many hit albums. But now, I’m focusing solely on my solo career. There are things I can’t always express.”

He elaborated on a past misunderstanding, noting that he had been accused of diminishing Peter’s role, and that a song they worked on with T.I, titled ‘Eja Jo,’ marked the beginning of their issues. Despite efforts to ensure that their return as Psquare was harmonious and balanced, Peter ultimately decided to quit.

Rudeboy shared that he had tried to involve Peter in the creative process and suggested they split the workload equally, but this approach did not resolve their issues. He concluded by stating that while he had hoped for a peaceful resolution, Peter’s decision to leave the group and refuse to make a public statement left him with no choice but to address the situation himself.
