Nigerian music icon David Adeleke, also known as Davido, has voiced his disapproval of a directive given by the police to voters in Edo State.

Reports from Drivetvnews indicate that the police advised voters to leave immediately after casting their ballots in the ongoing Edo State governorship election.

Deputy Inspector General of Police Frank Mba, responsible for overseeing security during the election, issued the warning. In an interview with Channels Television on Saturday morning, Mba encouraged voters to fulfill their civic responsibilities by casting their votes and then promptly returning home.

Additionally, he announced a restriction on vehicular movement in the state from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on election day. Mba emphasized that those not officially part of the electoral process should stay off the streets, saying, “Once you’ve cast your vote, your civic duty is done, and you should return home.”

Davido, who is affiliated with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), expressed his disagreement with the instruction. Responding to the video on his X account, he questioned the directive, writing, “Lol, go where?”
