One of the two top graduating students of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) for the 2023/2024 academic year, Samuel Akinade Badekale, has celebrated an extraordinary academic achievement by graduating with a perfect CGPA.

Badekale, a student in the Department of Cell Biology and Genetics, along with another student from the same department, Damilare Haroon Adebakin, emerged as the overall best students during the university’s 55th convocation ceremony. Both achieved a flawless CGPA of 5.00.

In a post on his X account on Thursday, Badekale expressed gratitude to God for his success, describing it as a realization of his dreams.

He wrote, “This is a testament that dreams come true! B.Sc Cell Biology and Genetics with perfect CGPA (5.00/5.00) ✅ Overall Best Graduating Student 2023/2024 @UnilagNigeria 🎓 Numerous awards & records broken. God did it! Proverbs 22:29 #unilag #UNILAG2024Convocation.”

Earlier, DriveTV News reported a groundbreaking achievement in UNILAG’s Department of Mass Communication, which produced 18 all-female first-class graduates during the 2023/2024 academic year.

This milestone was announced during the university’s 55th convocation ceremony, which began on Tuesday and lasted for three days. During the event, 16,590 students were awarded degrees and diplomas, with 9,865 receiving first degrees and diplomas, and 6,659 obtaining postgraduate degrees. Additionally, 66 students graduated from the UNILAG Business School (ULBS).
