Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo and the National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), has shared details of his financial contributions to President Bola Tinubu’s 2023 presidential campaign.
In a video circulating online, Akinsanya revealed that he personally funded campaign activities amounting to more than N756 million, stressing that he did not receive any financial support “from Abuja” throughout the process.
According to him, the funds covered accommodation, logistics and daily allowances for Nollywood celebrities and other supporters who were involved in campaign operations. He explained that he secured approximately 140 hotel rooms at a cost of N45,000 each per night for four straight months, in addition to providing daily stipends for campaign participants.
“I used my own money, N756 million. Nobody gave me anything from Abuja. I took care of hotel bills and supported those working day and night to ensure Asiwaju’s victory,” he stated.
Akinsanya, a close ally of the president, emphasized his unwavering loyalty and commitment heading into the 2027 elections. He noted that preparations are already underway to support Tinubu’s re-election bid.
“We are not slowing down. 2027 is near, and we have already started working to make sure Asiwaju returns to office,” he added.
