Nigerian rapper and activist, Folarin Falana, widely known as Falz, has criticized President Bola Tinubu following the violent attack on Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Isegun, in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, demanding that the president step down.
In a post shared on his X handle on Wednesday, Falz accused the president of failing to protect citizens, describing the government’s response to insecurity as unacceptable and negligent.
According to reports confirmed by the Kwara State Police Command, the attack happened around 6 p.m. on November 18. Armed bandits reportedly stormed the church during a service, killed at least one person and kidnapped several worshippers. Security operatives and vigilantes later repelled the attackers.
Reacting to the incident, Falz expressed anger over the repeated loss of lives to insecurity, questioning how long Nigerians must continue to endure unchecked violence.
He wrote: “How many more people have to be kidnapped and murdered in cold blood? How many more lives must be wasted? How many futures do you plan to destroy through incompetence and inaction? You have shown no willingness to protect the lives and property of our people. RESIGN NOW!”
Falz insisted that the government has continuously failed to fulfil its constitutional duty of safeguarding citizens, calling for immediate accountability from the presidency.
