Lieutenant A.M. Yerima, the Nigerian Navy officer who drew national attention after his encounter with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, has tied the knot with his partner in Kaduna.
A video circulating online shows Yerima and his bride seated together during a traditional ceremony at her family home, with an elderly woman—believed to be a family member—sitting between them in line with northern cultural customs.
Yerima became widely known after a viral video captured him addressing a land-related issue involving the FCT Minister in Abuja, earning praise from many viewers for his calm and firm conduct.
Recent reports had suggested that an assassination attempt was made on him following the incident. However, police authorities dismissed the claims.
FCT Command spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh stated that no such attack was reported, clarifying that what occurred was a routine stop-and-search operation.
The police further explained that on November 16, 2025, officers stopped a Toyota Camry with concealed plates and tinted windows during a standard security check, noting that the event had been misrepresented online.
