The media office of Sunday Adeyemo has rejected recent claims circulating online, describing them as inaccurate and deliberately misleading.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olayomi Koiki, the reports alleging that Igboho issued threats or a 24-hour ultimatum to any individual were strongly denied. Koiki maintained that such claims are entirely fabricated and intended to damage the activist’s reputation.

According to the statement, Igboho did not at any point order the arrest or abduction of anyone, nor did he threaten critics or members of the public. The spokesperson insisted that the narrative being spread is false and aimed at creating unnecessary tension within the Yoruba region.

Addressing Igboho’s support for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Koiki explained that the decision is a personal and constitutional right. He added that the move should not be interpreted as a betrayal of the Yoruba cause, but rather as a strategic effort to promote cooperation with authorities and improve security in the region.

Koiki further described Igboho as a committed advocate for justice and the welfare of the Yoruba people, noting that his contributions to the struggle for their protection and dignity are well established.

He also emphasised that Igboho remains committed to democratic principles, including freedom of expression, rule of law, and peaceful engagement. The statement stressed that the activist does not support any action that would suppress the rights of individuals to express their political views.

The spokesperson warned against the spread of unverified information and what he described as harmful propaganda, cautioning that such actions could create division and unrest.

He urged the public to disregard the reports in question and rely only on official statements from Igboho’s media office, reiterating that the activist remains dedicated to the peace, unity, and progress of the Yoruba people.
