Veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has died at the age of 66 after battling cancer.
Drivetvnews gathered that Hassan reportedly died on Sunday, August 23, 2026, following his prolonged struggle with the illness.
The news of his death was announced by his daughter, Kira Taiwo, in an emotional video circulating on social media. In the video, Kira was seen in tears as she repeatedly said, “My daddy is dead.”
The development comes just days after Kira and her sister, Haleemah, disclosed that their father had been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. The family had subsequently appealed to the public for support as they explored treatment options for the veteran actor.
Taiwo Hassan was one of the prominent figures in the Nigerian film industry, particularly in Yoruba-language cinema, where he built a successful career spanning several decades.
