Nigerian singer Kizz Daniel, born Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe, recently revealed his childhood experiences with bullying in a candid discussion. During the latest episode of the Afrobeats Podcast hosted by Adesope Olajide, the ‘Buga’ artist shared that he had faced bullying as a child, which led him to create his own inner world.
Kizz Daniel explained that he was a chubby child, and this physical difference made him the target of ridicule and taunts from other kids in his neighborhood. Consequently, he withdrew from social interactions and chose to stay indoors, away from the hurtful comments.
He further disclosed that he sometimes turned to alcohol as a means to cope with social anxieties. Kizz Daniel’s coping mechanism led him to develop a rich inner world, which provided him comfort during his childhood years.
Reflecting on his journey, he said, “So, I reintroduced myself to the world after I lost weight; I lost all forms of social skills. I don’t know how to communicate. I don’t know how to socialize with people.”
This revelation provides insight into the singer’s personal struggles and how he navigated challenges during his formative years.
