The General Superintendent of the William Folorunso Kumuyi, Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, has stated that he will not transfer the leadership of the church to any of his children, stressing that the ministry belongs solely to Jesus Christ.
Addressing members during a church service, Kumuyi responded to growing speculation about who would eventually succeed him as leader of the church. He noted that some people had questioned whether one of his sons would inherit the position when he steps aside.
The respected cleric dismissed such assumptions, explaining that Deeper Life is not a personal or family-owned institution but a spiritual body founded by Christ. According to him, no individual has the authority to hand over the church to a biological relative.
Kumuyi emphasized that leadership succession in the ministry should be determined by divine guidance rather than family ties. He referenced biblical figures such as Peter, Paul, and John, noting that none of them passed church leadership to their children.
He maintained that the church remains the property of Jesus Christ and that any future leadership decisions must align with God’s direction rather than hereditary considerations.
