A shocking incident occurred in the Apamsede area, a suburb of Lokoja, Kogi State, where a 17-year-old named Goodness Oshodi was arrested for allegedly burying his younger brother, Friday Oshodi, alive. The tragic event took place after Friday was accused of stealing N1,000, prompting their mother to instruct Goodness to discipline him.

Instead of giving Friday a conventional punishment, Goodness took him to a nearby bush and buried him alive. However, luck was not on Goodness’ side as vigilant members of the community caught him in the act. They rescued Friday, who was still alive, and reported the incident to the police.

Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP. William Ovie Aya, confirmed the arrest of Goodness and revealed that the 7-year-old victim had a history of stealing. The mother, seeking to discipline her son, had instructed his elder brother to punish him. The situation escalated tragically when the punishment went to extremes, leading to the horrifying incident. The police have initiated an investigation into the case.
